a monitor resolution of 1280 x 1024 or higher.
Certain XML components for your browser are also required for Multi-Record Editing. You will be prompted to install them the first time you log into the System Administration Tool.
The following requirements apply to all browsers.
Computers used to log into any of the MiVoice Business administration tools must have the MiVoice Business Self-Signed Security Certificate installed.
Pop-up blockers must be disabled. If the computer that you are using to access a MiVoice Business tool has pop-up blocker software installed, the administration tools may not operate properly. To access the administration tool or perform the administrative activity that the pop-up blocker software is preventing, you must allow pop-ups from MiVoice Business. See Enabling Pop-ups for details.
If possible, avoid Add-Ons. They can slow down or interfere with the performance of the browser.
The browser cache must be cleared whenever MiVoice Business is upgraded to a newer load.
In Firefox: press CTRL+SHIFT+DEL, select Everything for "Time range to clear" and Cache, then click OK.
In Chrome: press CTRL+SHIFT+DEL, select the beginning of time for Clear the following items from, and then click Clear Browsing Data.
In Edge: press CTRL+SHIFT+DEL, and under Clear Browsing Data, click Choose What to Clear, and then click Clear.
DOM Storage must be enabled (which by default it is).
In Firefox: Type about:config in the address bar, click past the warning, and scroll down to confirm that dom.storage.enabled, is set to 'true.'
Browsers must have Transport Layer Security (TLS) v1.0 or higher enabled. SSL protocol, which is less secure than TLS, is no longer supported. The latest versions of IE and Firefox have TLS (all versions) enabled by default
Certain browser functions, such as the Back and Forward navigation commands, offered on the right-click (Context) menus are not supported.
Disable autofill settings.
Do not save passwords in browsers.
NOTE: Forms that fail to load (with or without a "Document is Empty" error displaying) may also indicate that the browser cache needs clearing.
The System Administration Tool requires some changes to the default settings in Firefox. Some changes are mandatory (they impair your ability to use the tool); others are simply recommended for a better experience. The settings are in the Options window—click the Firefox button at the top of the Firefox window and select Options > Options. Then, navigate to the panel indicated below and make the changes described.

The Download options control browser behavior when downloading files, such as where to place the downloaded files on your computer. The System Administration Tool uses these options for its downloads (e.g., database backups, form data exports, system diagnostics, etc.) but does need them set a particular way. Use whatever setup suits you. |

The following options must be set as indicated (the others are personal preferences; set as desired):

With one exception—compatibility with older versions of MiVoice Business—Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox provide the same user experience with respect to interface behavior and support for the features and capabilities of the MiVoice Business tools. So the one you use is matter of preference.
Below are the key interface differences. None affect tool operation and all can be removed to give the tools the same basic look and feel.
The compatibility issue applies to the Application Reach Through feature. Firefox does not support use of the feature to connect to MCD 6.0 and earlier systems. See below for more information.
Navigation Bar
By default, Firefox displays the Navigation Toolbar (or address bar) at the top of the System Administration Tool window and in dialog boxes. You can choose to hide it for a look that's more like Internet Explorer 9 by clearing the "Navigation Toolbar" box in the Options menu. Earlier versions of IE do not allow you to hide the bar.

Add-on Bar
The Add-on Bar is a toolbar at the bottom of the browser window that holds all of your add-on shortcuts. You can choose to hide it by clearing the "Add-on Bar" box either in the Options menu or in the menu displayed by right-clicking the bar.

"Prevent page from creating additional dialogs" dialog box
Firefox sometimes displays a dialog box with the message "Prevent this page from creating additional dialogs". Its purpose is to prevent endless loops of pop-ups from locking up the browser. If you encounter the message, you must click "Cancel" or leave the box next to the message unchecked. Otherwise, no further dialog boxes will display until the MiVoice Business tool is restarted.
NOTE: Internet Explorer and Firefox provide an option (Caret Browsing) that places a moveable cursor (a flashing vertical bar, |) on web pages, allowing you to navigate within the page using the keyboard. Caret browsing is designed for text documents. It's less useful on form-based interfaces such as the System Administration Tool . The option is off by default in both browsers and can be toggled by pressing F7 .
"Unresponsive Script" warning
Some actions, such as entering maintenance commands or editing keys in the User and Services Configuration form, may result with Firefox displaying the following warning message:
A script on this page may be busy, or may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, or you can continue to see if the script will complete.
Continuing is the appropriate response. You may see the warning again depending on the extent of the action—for example, when clearing programming data for several keys at once. Keep clicking Continue until the entire action is completed.
Application Reach Through in Firefox is only supported to remote MiVoice Business systems running 6.0 SP1 or later. If a system in the Admin Group is incompatible, it won't be in the Show form on list.
Other Reach Through features unavailable on incompatible MiVoice Business systems:
Record-level Reach Through in forms such as the Multiline Set Key form.
Remote Login in the SDS Distribution Errors form
Reach Through from the Admin Group Alarm Summary form to the Alarm Details form on a remote MiVoice Business system.
